SHOULD I GET LIP FILLER OR A LIP FLIP?

When considering enhancing your lips, you have several options, each with unique benefits and suited to different aesthetic goals. Understanding these can help you make an informed decision about which procedure might be right for you.

Lip Filler: This popular method involves injecting hyaluronic acid into the lips to add volume and fullness. It’s not just about plumping; with the right technique, facial fillers can also lift the lips to some extent. This option is generally recommended for those with thinner lips who desire both enhancement and subtle lifting.

Lip Flip: Unlike fillers, a lip flip involves the strategic use of Botox injections just above the lip area. This technique relaxes the surrounding muscles, causing the lip to curl outward subtly, creating the illusion of a fuller lip without adding volume. This procedure is typically suggested for patients who already have fuller lips but are looking for a slight lift rather than increased volume.

Lip Lift: A more permanent solution compared to fillers and flips, a lip lift involves a surgical procedure where a small incision is made under the nose. By removing a bit of skin and lifting the lip directly, this procedure shortens the space between the nose and the lip, enhancing the overall shape and fullness. This is a suitable option for those looking for a more significant and lasting change.

Each of these treatments serves a distinct purpose and works best under different circumstances. For individuals with thin lips seeking noticeable volume, lip fillers might be the best choice. Those with naturally fuller lips who desire just a subtle enhancement might find a lip flip sufficient. Meanwhile, a lip lift could be ideal for someone looking for a permanent solution with more dramatic results.

The best way to determine the most suitable option is through a detailed consultation with one of our experienced injectors. They can assess your facial structure, discuss your aesthetic goals, and recommend the most appropriate treatment based on your lip shape, size, and the results you wish to achieve.

Dr. Shah:

Should I get lip filler or a lip? Lip? So lip filler, um, is basically when you place any sort of injection, usually it’s hyaluronic acid in the lip, make them plumper. And then the alternative to that is to get something called a lip. Lip. A lip lip is when you place Botox, and that’s typically gonna be just above the lip. It kind of flip it up and open it up. Which one’s better? I actually think they both serve a purpose, but they both kind of work in different ways. Lip jeweler is there to make your lips fuller and you actually can lift some of them up with like the proper technique. So that’s possible. Not all lips, but some lips can that have it happen. Um, the lip flip is a little more limited. Lip. Lip. You’re just basically trying to change the muscle activity around your lip and trying to actually flip it up just a bit by decreasing their activity just above it so that it’ll pull it up.

Both actually work well in the right patient and a really patient selection. And having a conversation with your patient. Most patients who have thin lips who want their lips to be like lifted, almost always suggesting lip lower. Most patients with full lips who want just a little bit of a lift to it, it’s gonna be a lip lip. And for some patients it could be a combination of both. And then for some patients it’s actually even a third option that we didn’t even talk about all day. Lip lift a different than nose and a lip. Lip is when I make a small incision under the nose, actually inside the nose. Or I’ll remove a little bit of skin contour, uh, and lift up, uh, the lip itself to shorten the distance and flip the lip up in another position. So all of these are great options and the best way to know which one’s great for you is just to go to an experienced injector in our office. They’ll know how to the limitations of lip color, lip lips, and even if you need a lip lift.
